The best decorative item is a useful one. The simplicity and elegance of a book can the best decorative item ever. Books express your personality and a little insight to who you are as a person. When you display your books, you display that bit of personality and make your space unique.  I love books. I love reading them, I love having them around me. I love to display them. For most books lovers and me they are more than just a collection of pages on a coffee table or a bookcase. Where and how you display your beloved books adds a different kind of focal point in your space.

 

Coffee table books

Beautiful books like albums, art books, cookbooks, fashion books, even car books will look stunning on the coffee table. Simply stack them together on your coffee table, add some candles or small vase with a flower and voila you have beautiful display.  For a more cohesive look, try to match the color of the covers with your room color pallet.

Pedestal books

Books are great form of leverage for smaller decorative items. They add substance and personality while  creating an interesting display.

Kids’ Books

Encourage and celebrate your kids love for reading! Create a display that will be easy to keep in order, very accessible, enticing and most of all  a colorful and fun .

Unify Books

If you are buying books for their real purpose READING   not as a decorative piece  J most likely you will have bookshelves full of colorful covers with different fonts and sizes. Here are three tips on how to achieve a more in discrete and clean look without hiding them in storage.

Option 1: Display them with spines turned inward. Immediately your display will get a neat look. However, if you like to come back to the books you have already read, it might be challenging find the right one you  are looking for.

Option 2. Make your own covers. If you are DIY person, it’s a great idea to create your own covers. You can hand write the titles, print them or even stamp! Of course this option is pretty time consuming, but I’m 100 percent sure you will create a WOW effect

Option 3: Color code . By grouping books by their color, you will create a cheerful eye catching display, which also looks unified and organized.

I won’t lie, this is what I love the most. This is my dream, a library wall that stretches from the top of the second floor to the bottom of the first floor.
